The Best Kept Secret in Mexico

About loreto bay

Muy Bueno

Loreto is where you come to relax, not to club. If you value downshifting, decompressing, and re-communing with nature, you will LOVE Loreto Bay. Words like serene, tranquil, quaint, low-key all apply. Friendly people, good food, beautiful mountains, calm seas, and healthful activities abound here. The weather is warm all year. Most of time, the climate is extraordinary. July and August can get very warm however. Click here for a year round climate and weather forecast website. Do your research and plan your wardrobe accordingly.

Mas Bueno

Loreto Bay Condo is unit FN59 in The Villages at Loreto Bay. This largely Canadian and American expat community is actually in an area known locally as Nopolo [NO-po-lo]. FN stands for Founder's Neighbourhood and was the first development at Loreto Bay. There is one other neighborhood in Loreto Bay. Agua Viva ('AV' as it's known) is phase two and still under some construction. Founders as it's commonly called, has more mature landscaping with far easier access to the beach and to the center of the community... within easy walking distance to virtually everything.

No Bueno

Want to know what's missing in Loreto? There's plenty: high rises, beach merchants, panhandlers, big box stores, fast food joints, smog, traffic, tourist crowds, crowds of any kind (save for the airport at times), etc. There are virtually no big city ills. In fact, Loreto is so small, there's only one stop light for over 100 miles. The airport is only five minutes away and while LTO is technically an international airport, it gets an average of only six flights per day. Needless to say, this ain't Cabo... it's the anti-Cabo. It's what Cabo used to be.
